Immi by Matt Zambon: Review
‘Immi,’ the song by Australian indie/pop musician and producer Matt Zambon, features a wonderful, calming tune. Matt was born in Johannesburg, where he started making music at the age of 12. The artist’s artistic expression is truly prevalent in the track, as evident from his youthful musical beginnings. Mixing ambient guitar pieces and stellar pop-style vocals Matt truly shines in the tale of “Immi”.
The music of Immi is a careful mix of soft guitar chord structures and soothing sequences. Upon hearing the track, a gentle indie aura surrounded me. Within this very aura, Matt’s voice guides you through subtle percussive segments and light fillers. I’m a sucker for tracks that have a strong buildup. This is because it defines musical diversity and the elements of storytelling. So, when “Immi” reached its crescendo, synthesizers entered the atmosphere to grace us in a playful interlude. It was truly enchanting and a wonderful solo to hear!
“Immi” by Matt Zambon excited me tremendously, the underlying reason is the wonderful chemistry with each instrument and the singer’s allure. The essence of the song and the vibes I received pertained to the idea of a full-house auditorium. No one speaks, everyone’s in their own realm observing the delightful escapism existing within “Immi”, and letting the narrative flow into one another. An interesting thing about the track’s beginning is the addition of some non-musical elements, which in return gave it a unique melodic color. I’m speaking on behalf of the rustling of leaves (I think) where that crispy noise derives from, and actual coins!
