CH/ZZY Releases Ecstatic Hip-Hop Album “Late Start”
Superb artist CH/ZZY AKA Corey M Chiz will excite audiences with his rap flow and melodic skill. His album “Late Start” was released on March 3rd, and accompanies 15 amazing tracks that will make you vibe and reflect at the same time. Corey edited the record, oversaw its final production, and developed the artwork too! He collaborated with fourteen great producers who served as the main component behind the beats. All of them were discovered on YouTube and BeatStars.
CH/ZZY is inspired by hip hop, the underground, Chicago, 1990s-style rap, and old-school rap. The artist has been influenced by so many greats, including Nas, J. Cole, Kendrick, Jay-Z, and Tupac, as well as acts such as Tribe, Run the Jewels, Outkast, the Roots, and J5. Furthermore, Corey’s musical taste spans to old school musicians such as Cool J and Slick Rick to Chicago rappers such as Kanye, Common, and Lupe, to independent artists such as Sa-Roc, Oddisee, Aesop Rock, Soleil Briggs, and Danny Brown.
The album “Late Start” was recorded in Corey’s home studio in Chicago over approximately 18 months. It is an album that reflects his passion for the hip-hop genre and Chicago. The album explores a variety of feelings. Some elements of it are humorous such as the opening number “Start Some Shit” and some are fundamentally poetic such as the moody rap number “Comfortable.” Some are intense, such as when he discusses his harsh anxiety and panic disorder or the pain associated with his parents’ deaths.
