Chakras 2.0 by Megaciph: Album Review
Megaciph creates hip-hop numbers with the grounded vibe of EDM, jazz, and a bit of experimental music too. โChakras 2.0โ is a medically fierce album where the rap verses are powerful, epic, and full of fluid bars that may unlock the beast mentality of anyone coming across the artistโs music.
Opening up with the musical confidence of โRed 2.0โ, the scene took control of deep EDM-style beats and basslines. Thereโs this charm about the rapper, his voice follows the rhythmic force of old-school hip-hop, and this is where the strength of his voice and words grip you. The next song on the list โOrange 2.0โ is a bit more laid-back and incorporates the musical exploration of nu-jazz, and a bit of lofi too. This time around the rapper inclines towards a catchier flow to connect with the sway of the instrumentation. It had interesting bass transitions and a synth-heavy background which was peaceful to hear. โGreen 2.0โ is a proper mood boost. You blast this on your way to work, and it just might be your day to get promoted, who knows? The atmospheric vocal pieces are in line with jazz, and the rap verses feel like a special momentum worth hearing.
So far the album is diverse in its hip-hop lifeblood. The 5th track โBlue 2.0โ, represents a vintage piece by a bluesy singer that truly takes us back to yesteryear. The last track of the album โOne of These Ol Daysโ returns with the nu-jazz elements, now it hits just the right amount of notes, and loops to sound extremely smooth.
