CircleWalk by Sano Hill: Review
Communication is always essential in any relationship. It’s the bedrock on which relationships built on love and trust can thrive. Especially when you are facing trouble or misunderstandings, there is no better way than to sit back and talk things through. But that wasn’t the case for Sano Hill, or at least not the one featured in his latest track, “CircleWalk.”
If you are unfamiliar with the above-mentioned musician, Sano Hill is a rising singer-songwriter from the Irish music scene. The indie rock musician’s work covers themes of love and grief, as evidenced by prior songs such as “The Climb” and “Starting Over,” as well as “CircleWalk.” The song has a nostalgic vibe with a full band sound, beginning with just drums and acoustic guitars, then quickly adding bass, percussion, and even some horn sounds. As the song progresses, the restlessness in the instruments builds until the final crescendo, when they explode in a satisfying release and fade out. The song’s title alludes to the hopelessness of trying to have meaningful communication with someone who refuses to open up.
Quotable lyrics:
“You can talk if you want to
I don’t care
You can scream, scream
If you want to
I don’t care
Walk, if you want to.”
All three songs from Sano Hill are the first taste of the upcoming album “If Not Now, When?” which tells the story of a romantic relationship from start to finish. It’d be interesting to see how these little puzzles tie into the tale. We are awaiting his next move with interest.
