The album, “My New Normal,” by Coolhandtrew, was released recently in 2022. Trew is a self-driven and inspired musician who shares his life’s journey in this uplifting album. It’s a brilliant album with soothing sounds and musical artistry that is inspired by alternative hip-hop, jazz, and many more that will encourage listeners to keep pursuing their passions. The album’s music contains a wide range of cultural influences and a nostalgic quality. It reflects his never-give-up attitude and is filled with emotion and captivating bars as he puts his soul into it. The album consists of eight tracks, which were produced by various producers such as Soulplusmind, Eric Haywood, and L1vebeats.
“How Many Miles Away” opens the album with soulful energy. A groovy funk/soul bass guitar, brass instrumentation, and layered vocals fill the track perfectly. Between soulful vocals, a futuristic autotuned vocal bridges old-school soul and electronic music. A great opening track that lifts the listeners’ spirits and introduces the artist’s sound. “Fall Guy” opens with keyboard keys, soulful backing vocals, and brass. As the song develops, Trew and a full-of-life female vocalist add soulful hip-hop vocals and with the sexy saxophone tune gives the track a full-on jazzy vibe. The album ends with “Be More,” which starts with synth and finger snaps, and then comes the seductive vocal of Trew along with trap beats and vocal samples that loop in the background of the track. There is a full-of-life guitar solo, which makes the track more powerful.
It’s a well-crafted album with meaningful lyrics and groovy compositions that will have listeners moving their bodies with a full-on groove. Check it out here:
