Consequential, the emerging producer from Bury St. Edmunds, has been steadily shaping their reputation in the UK’s bass scene, and now with “Cravin’,” released on August 16th, 2025, they’ve landed their first official release on WoodysWorldRecords NZ. With their liquid drum and bass and tinges of trance and dub, Consequential leans into mood, texture, and clever sampling—in this case, it’s the playful sound of their own dog catching a tennis ball. “Cravin’” has that atmosphere dipped in innovation that you can lose yourself in, whether you’re driving at dusk or chasing the dancefloor at 2 a.m.
The track begins with shimmering, immersive atmospherics, like golden-hour light bleeding across water. You will find the distorted vocal refrain cutting in often, almost like a craving whispered into your ear. As the beat drops, it buzzes with a propulsive energy, catchy without being abrasive, and keeps you moving and searching.
It gives you the best of both worlds with euphoria and restraint. The immersive synth layers float soothingly, like an afterglow, while the rhythmic backbone keeps snapping you back to the present. On the other hand, the vocal lines remind you of the hunger for desire in its rawest form, the need for release, for connection, for something beyond the everyday grind. By the time the track winds down, it comes more like a looping thought you’ll catch yourself replaying long after.
