Dancing Through a Slow Apocalypse by Meadow Argus: EP Review

Meadow Argus brings the best of both worlds with their EP โDancing Through a Slow Apocalypseโ by initiating stellar compositions filled with psychedelia, and indie. It would seem that the EP had a similar melodic pattern, but instead of that, a rather diversified musical aura was present in each of the seven tracks from it!
Whoโd have thought that avant-garde would mix so well with a catchy beat? Interestingly enough, the EPโs first song โIs That You?โ is a funky piece incorporating experimental/avant-garde symphonies, with a jazzy bassline keeping the balance. Also, a spoken word vocal progression is in order while bells accompany the melody. The heavy essence of psychedelic music comes in like a powerful storm in โNo Company.โ Driving the force of the track with an EDM-style rhythm pattern made it stand out. Aside from that a magnetic transition with trippy guitars is present, and thatโs one of my treasured parts of this track. Moving forward, I found myself within the grasp of โTiny Flamesโ, a beautiful but dark indie rock tune filled with a hazy atmosphere and moody instrumentation. Mixing reverbed vocals with deep basslines had a nice touch and were soothing to hear.
Just when I thought Iโd had my fair share of folk music, the charming number โSleepโ arrived. Excellently composed with a bluegrass-style melody, violins and banjos are introduced for a truly wholesome sound.
