Depth of Soul by Juliet Callahan: Review
Alternative pop-rock songstress Juliet Callahan moves us with her emotionally stirring piece “Depth of Soul.” It’s a gripping and evocative melody with thoughtful lyricism and a solid rock melody shaping it. Altogether, it’s a fantastic throwback to the good old days of 2000s alternative rock and all the familiar feelings that go along with it.
“Depth of Soul” slowly takes us into the heart of its cadence. Firstly, Juliet’s clean voice enchants us, and each rhythm that follows her is equally resonant. After nearly one minute in, a powerful distortion riff drops, and it sets the entire scene ablaze with a striking energy. It came out of nowhere ‘cause the intro followed a more atmospheric tone. Thus, the surprise was pretty sensational, and it was executed in splendid alternative rock fashion. When that crescendo arrived, Juliet’s ode expanded into a wild creative force. Her chorus bits were innately catchy, and it was primarily because she owned that section. Then and there, she erupted into a vocal roar and showed us the extent of her musical grit. I was thoroughly impressed upon hearing it repeatedly, especially the breakdown and Juliet’s poetic action once more.
Juliet Callahan’s music is more than just words mixed in with guitar riffs. It’s a thorough reflection of the self through empowering melodies. If alternative pop-rock is your jam, then don’t hesitate to give her music a try. “Depth of Soul” is available for streaming, and if I were you, I would rush to hear it.
