Dreams by Alex Kate: Review
Love and relationships, with all of their emotional power, are an endless source of inspiration for writers to explore. Alex Kate, a British singer-songwriter, recently decided to put her own spin on Fleetwood Macโs โDreamsโ to create an emotionally wrenching ballad out of it. She sings about the struggle with a part of your life that is now painfully removed as you move on from past love, but you will get there eventually: โWhen the rain washes you clean, youโll know/You will know.โ
I find the sound and the instrumental choice for the track particularly satisfying. The song starts off with a calm, soothing, and gorgeous piano melody that serves as the backbone for everything else. It is later infused with excellent string orchestrations, with a sweet touch of cello serving as the icing on the cake. The singer admitted that she was initially intimidated by how to compliment such a beautiful tune. She did an excellent job, in my opinion. Alex charms the listeners with her sweet, melancholy vocals. Hers is a voice that can sit perfectly on top of an acoustic, stripped-down set while also taking center stage in a fuller, more produced set.
For Alex, her music is often an extension of her world, where people can escape and immerse themselves in her songs. There you can find an inspirational story, sometimes a resonating voice from the past, sometimes a comforting friend. Itโs always a pleasant surprise when it comes to Alex Kateโs songs. Her musical journey is definitely something to be excited about.
