Dust by ANVR: Review

‘Dust’ by ANVR is a heavy-hitting track filled with emotion and ethereal music. The atmosphere of the track starts with a slow-tempo acoustic guitar playing. I appreciate the tone and production work that went into creating the song, absolutely lovely! The singer’s voice is a bit on the baritone side and paves the way for awesome alternative rock music.

‘Dust’ is a fantastic single by ANVR, and the artwork which I noticed on the artist’s Spotify page was very creative and aesthetic. I enjoyed the entire playthrough of the song, and I believe it is perfect for those quiet nights while you rest after a long day’s work. You kick back your feet, and play ‘Dust’, afterwards a sense of calm will uplift the weight off your shoulders.

The band members include Andreas Potgieter, the lead vocalist, an instrumentalist, and producer Simon Orrey, a drummer and a co-producer. They first became acquainted with one another in the year 2011 while they were both attending Stellenbosch University. The band had its start in December of 2012, initially as a Grunge Rock band that served as a source of motivation. Over the course of its existence, the band transitioned into the Alternative Rock act that it is today. The band first began performing live in 2018 under the moniker “Boston Light Band,” but since December 2021, they have been going by the name ANVR instead.
