Elliot Levine drops groovy new song ‘Sugar Honey Iced Tea’
‘Sugar Honey Iced Tea’, the sixth album by keyboardist Elliot Levine, features musicians from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The single, which also serves as the album’s title, features the sultry vocals of Jaron Bradley. Nia Kitura’s painting, which is located in Washington, DC, served as inspiration for ‘Sugar Honey Iced Tea’. Leroy Harper Jr., a saxophonist for James Brown, and Nelson Ortiz, a percussionist for Santana, both perform on the album’s nine smooth and funky songs, which also features a mix of other artists. Young musician Bryson Grove, 24, performs drums and guitar on each song. His guitar solo on Guava Cake is reminiscent of Van Halen. Elliot Levine, a native of Silver Spring, Maryland, has toured with Wilson Pickett and has been a member of Heatwave (Boogie Nights/Groove Line/Always and Forever) for 23 years. He is the second person in the world to have received one million downloads from MP3.com in 1999. CNN.COM and the Wall Street Journal both covered this accomplishment. According to Jazz Times, he is “Showing Remarkable Talent” in his playing. The songs ‘Sugar Honey Iced Tea’, ‘Summer Madness’, and ‘I’ll Be Around’ are suitable for radio play.
