Escort by 12Limbs: Review
12Limbs are back to make a splash with their unique blend of indie guitar rock with a hint of electronic. After three years, they have released their new single “Escort,” serving up a delicious combo of indie/EDM in a summertime tune, reworked by Ruff Loaderz and Slim Tim which will be a mainstay of dance floors all around the world.
The song begins with a beautiful guitar riff, upbeat instrumentals, and voices. The drums keep the pulse while the bassline, melodic effects, and powerful vocals complement the guitar work. “Escort” delves into the shadowy realm of one-night stands with people you may never see again, exploring both the pleasure of their presence and the inescapable sadness that comes with the thought that you may never cross paths again. 12Limbs, ever the musically adventurous band, add a Pet Shop Boys-like feel to ‘Escort,’ with lead singer Ben’s eerie vocals alternating between scary and engaging. It’s a surprisingly effective bittersweet contrast and its catchy tune will stick in your head. This is a great party hymn that makes you want to pump up the volume.
You could also tune to it for a workout session, thanks to Slim Tim and Ruff Loaderz coming together to transform the song into the ultimate floor stomper against deep drums to be on the set lists of DJs all across Ibiza.
