Songstress/A Song and Dance Man by Charlie Steady: Review

Musician Charlie Steady is a multi-instrumentalist who also writes his own songs. After playing bass and providing backing vocals in a number of local bands, the artist started his solo career. His songs, which fall under the Indie, Alternative, Rock, and Alt-pop categories, are inspired by stories. The songs “Songtress” and “A Song and Dance Man” by Charlie are both fantastic compositions that everyone should listen to! While “Songtress” is jam-packed with funk, R&B, and soul music, “A Song and Dance Man” combines a little bit of acoustic rock with a blues melody and a moody tone.
Synthesizers, jazzy guitar picking, a groove-filled bass line, and simply amazing percussion sections are all used in “Songtress.” I really liked the track’s psychedelic guitar solo and bouncy bass line. Overall, the track is pretty sick and has amazing instrumentation. The singer’s voice reminds me of hippie-era melodies from the 1960s and 1970s. It has an aura that really makes me happy that the spirit of that era’s music is still evident today.
Highway music and blues are prominent in the song “A Song and Dance Man.” The acoustic guitar is played more quickly and with passion than the other track. The song is overall very energizing and contains some harmonies. All of that energy is boosted by sparse piano accents and a steady bass line. You’ll hear an electric guitar solo that significantly speeds up the tempo before it slows down. At that point, you just want the song to keep playing!
