Eyes Like Fire by The Starkillers: Review
The indie rock quartet hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, The Starkillers gives the listeners another exciting peek at their upcoming debut ‘Are You Thinking Of Me?’ with their latest single “Eyes Like Fire”.
Call it infatuation, love, lust, or obsession, the initial stage of a relationship has a different kick to it that you can’t just stop thinking about them. Depicting the fascination during the initial phase of a relationship, the song is an electrifying anthem about being head over heels for someone. The band aptly decides to place it as the first song on the album to set the tone with the same electrifying kick.
Musically this is their heaviest release yet and this would make a great opener for a debut album. The song charges with punchy hard-hitting drums accompanied by equally heavy fuzzy overdriven guitars. The opening vocals have a hypnotic melody and gradually go up and grow in intensity accompanied by thick distinct bass. As the song progresses more layers of guitar melodies electrify the song keeping the voltage high. As the dynamic vocals sing about love, lust, and obsession, the musical arrangement of the song brings forward its essence in a classic rock n roll fashion. It’s fast, it’s loud, it’s heavy, and energetic with unforgettable hooks and soaring chorus parts that you cannot but sing along to. The album couldn’t ask for a better opener and I cannot wait for it to come out.
