Favorite Mistake by The Domain and Lousy: Review
Under the stage name “The Domain,” Australian artist Michael McKean is making waves in the electronic music scene. He’s a self-taught musician who can DJ, sing, and produce and mix his own music. After much waiting, his single “Favorite Mistake,” a collaboration with Lousy, has finally been released this year, and the wait was worthwhile.
The talented and innovative musician is a one-man army who defies genre boundaries by merging a wide range of musical forms. In “Favorite Mistake,” he blends vintage synth-pop, futuristic house, and modern EDM production to create his own distinct aesthetic. Having produced beats for parties and rap battles in the past, he is a master at setting the tone for a good time. The song is an enticing invitation for listeners to join him on the dance floor, as it instantly lifts your mood and keeps your body swinging. The Domain captures the savage, booming intensity of the night in its atmosphere, while Lousy’s smooth vocals soar above it.
The song is all about having fun and celebrating life at the moment, even if it is a mistake. The Domain himself said that they were having the best time in the studio making the song, and their infectious joy can be heard in every note.
The Domain’s “Favorite Mistake” is only the first in a string of releases this year. So, if you’re looking for some good vibes and head-bobbing music, keep an eye out because he has a lot more in store for you.
