Freaky by Jordan Bakewell: Review
Jordan Bakewell gets freaky with his buttery smooth vocals in his new single, Freaky.
Featuring very well-produced clean beats and catchy dance tunes, Jordan Bakewell’s smooth vocals take you right back to the early 2000s with his latest release Freaky. This tune carries the timeless smoothness and vocal charisma of the early millennia that the likes of Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo, and the boybands like NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys. The influence of Michael Jackson is evident in the vocals too. Overall, his sound is smooth, precise and calculated.
Quotable Lyrics:
And I see you wanting more
No time, the clothes are on the floor
Lights out, we got all this time to ourselves
To get freaky
I don’t know how you do this to me
You’re like a drug I just can’t keep away
You’re like a fantasy you’re always on my mind
Can’t keep you out of sight
See I like the way you put it on me
Yeah yeah
Starting with the chorus, the song follows a chorus-verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure with captivating melodic repetitions that don’t feel as repetitive, rather it’s one of those songs that if you play on repeat, you won’t really notice that it’s been playing on repeat for the last 15 minutes. The chorus is catchy and an instant earworm. The keys and the beats really compliment the vocal melodies that the mix put out in the front. It’s a really well-balanced mix that emphasizes the vocals but the beats still carry a punch. The song also has a music video released that is just as eye-catching. A perfect song to play when you invite your date over!
