Friday Night by Snakedoctors: Review
From the latest album by the Polish group Snakedoctors, Friday Night has a sharp 80s edge.
Friday Night is the second track of the band’s fourth album, Four And A Half. Following the darkwave sound of the opening track, Crime Story, this track is heavy with synth melodies that wanna make you dance. After all, this aptly named track is about having fun. Starting with heavily processed drums followed by a groovy bassline that lays the way for the synth melodies, the song doesn’t take long to get you hooked. The vocals have a somewhat quirkiness that fits the sound so well. It’s so uplifting and inspires to sing along or even start an 80s-themed party only to dance to it.
The lyrics are simple and straightforward– wanting to go out and have a good time after work on a Friday night. Who doesn’t want that? The simplicity of these lyrics makes it instantly relatable. Now pair it with a groovy bass, an anthemic beat, a boatload of catchy synth and an oddly addictive quirky singing, you have an oddly perfect song to vibe with on your Friday nights.
