“Deputy, I’m the man for the job if you’re hankering for a solid bounty hunter. Just gimme a picture with the price, and I’ll bring ‘em in nice and discrete” And away he goes, the lonesome cowboy on his trusty steed, as the credit rolls we can hear a tune fit for the ages, a song called “Geoff’s Ghost” by Scot Free Sessions. Scot truly brings out that “wild-wild west” blues up on the forefront, with his crispy southern voice, and incredible guitar and accordion arrangements.
Scot Robinson the brainchild behind Scot Free Sessions is a native of Edmonton, Alberta. His entrance of “Geoff’s Ghost” is lively, and Scot surely knows how to captivate an audience with his strong vocal command. The guitar strumming is vibrantly consistent, and the percussion elements seem to partner up with the rest of the band remarkably. Scot’s lyrical ability is quite poetic, and he manages to tell a tale fit for everyone to enjoy and jam to. It feels like a monologue that should be embedded in history for people to admire and remember.
I truly enjoy the harmony and overall rhythmic sequence in the entirety of the track. It is a song, that also feels more personal and an attachment to the artist’s musical sense. The parts of the guitar and accordion mix together to add a beautiful texture to the track. This has a profound effect on the song. It might be a blues and country track, but the accordion has a unique flavor that blesses the song in its totality.
