Hidden path by Perttu Leinonen: Review

There is something about one of the happiest countries in the world, Finland. Whether it’s the cleanest air or the gorgeous landscapes which can be seen, you can’t deny it also pays homage to amazing musicians. So, today let us take you into the world of Perttu Leinonen! The artist explores many different genres in his album ‘Hidden Path’, quite notably the electronic and ambient genres. The album has a total of eight tracks and is a trip from start to finish. I got some serious vibes from the Terminator movie series, as Leinonen’s music can be an excellent soundtrack to the post-apocalyptic/cyberpunk setting.
Every song on ‘Hidden Path’ has a very ambient theme. All of the music is based instrumentally, and there is a sense of mystery in them. This is the type of music, where with one listen you can get instantly hooked. As I entered the deep realm of avant-garde and techno on which the artist based the album’s sound on, my senses felt enamored. As I played each song, it played in a different setting but revolved around the same instruments, most notably the synthesizer and a little bit of the bass guitar too. The structure of each song follows a similar pattern to jazz music, this is because I felt that the artist was open to improvisation. And we all know how important improv is in jazz!
Everyone, I’m sure you’ll enjoy listening to the album ‘Hidden path’ by Perttu Leinonen as much as I did. The Finnish artist is surely one to look out for!
