Home Is Where the Heart Is (Acoustic) by Fraser Morgan: Review
The British folk-punk acoustic singer-songwriter and avid gigger from Essex, England Fraser Morgan pours his heart out in his stripped-down acoustic version of his song โHome Is Where the Heart Isโ.
A Man and his acoustic guitarโ sometimes this is all you need to get a point across. This sentiment rings true especially for the song of the hour, โHome Is Where the Heart Isโ. As the name suggests, the song emphasizes the fact that a home doesnโt need to be a house and sometimes it is a loved one. All you need is to have them near to feel at home and being away from them is enough to make you homesick. This message is beautifully carried across by Fraser Morganโs expressive vocals and guitar strumming.
If you listen to the original version of the song, which we highly recommend you do, youโll notice the acoustic version of the song takes out the percussions, backing guitar solos, and the vocal overlays and leaves us with just Fraser Morgan singing and playing guitar at the same time. The stops and pauses in the rhythmic strumming fill in for the percussions and leave more emphasis on the vocals. The vocals are clear and precise and his emphasis beautifully expresses the emotions of the lyrics. This comes from his years of experience performing live in front of an audience. This is also where the songโs ability to keep the listeners engaged comes from with its rhythmic antics.
