Wattmore’s new single “I Don’t Miss That Woman” is less a gentle goodbye and more a door slam heard from three suburbs away. Out August 1st, this gritty country-rock scorcher delivers breakup energy that smells like diesel fumes, whiskey breath, and one very fed-up man driving off into the sunset with zero regrets. These Brisbane brothers, born of trucking routes and well-oiled strings, show you the tire tracks left behind. And co-writing with Australian country veteran Allan Caswell only adds more octane to the mix.
From the get-go, the song roars to life with pounding drums that slap like a door hitting the wall, and twang-heavy guitars that zigzag between sarcasm and sincerity. The raspy, bold vocals, brimming with barely-concealed disdain, let the world know that Wattmore isn’t looking back, not even in the rearview mirror. It’s honest and messy in the best way, and somehow still a blast to sing along to, especially that chorus that sticks in your head like mud to boots.
Produced by Lindsay Waddington, the track is sharp, clean, and full of muscle. The musicians behind it sound like they were raised on engine grease and guitar slides. The whole vibe feels like a breakup song you’d play loud on an open road with the windows down, yelling the lyrics like a battle cry.
Wattmore, as always, brings their signature no-BS charm, equal parts sharp wit and southern grit. “I Don’t Miss That Woman” gets its point across with a bold, bruised, and unapologetically loud sound, leaving dust in its wake. Check it out on Spotify.
