In the video for “Stuck,” Westside Boogie admits to being bound by his own roots.
It appears that 2022 will be the year that Westside is fully realized. Boogie presents the world with a new record. The Compton rapper went as Boogie the last time he released a full-length album, Everythings For Sale, in 2019. He’s changed his identity, freestyled over some of rap’s most successful current tunes, and dropped a few guest verses since then. Furthermore, at the end of 2020, Boogie released his first official single, “Outside,” with Joey Badass, signaling the start of a new chapter in his career. This is the latest release from Boogie.
Westside Boogie returns with “Stuck,” an honest attempt in which he admits to being stuck in his roots. While fame and fortune may tempt some to flee the obligations and hazards of home, Boogie insists he hasn’t completely detached himself from his surroundings. On the chorus, he raps, “It’s something ’bout the hood, I adore it, I ain’t goin’, no, I’m trapped.”
More Black Superheroes is the title of Boogie’s sophomore album, which will be released later this year. Boogie and his company, Shady Records, announced the news on social media. The project’s release date has yet to be announced, but “Stuck” and news of More Black Superheroes arrive after Boogie met Shelley fka DRAM for their latest collaboration, “Aight.”
