INFINITY by Eagle Owl: EP Review

The music of Eagle Owl is an interesting blend of electronica fused with Christian music. Specifically pertaining to the melodic balance of hip-hop and rap, the Canadian musician based out of Winnipeg offers a compelling performance in his EP โINFINITY.โ
We start our mystical journey with the sounds of โLET GOโ, a dark-synth-powered spoken word tune. The artist showcases a passionate vocal passage that is graceful and filled with thoughtful lyrics. Musical peace is often quite enriching to experience, specifically when the right tempo is incorporated. Add in a dash of instrumental finesse, such as creating a psychedelic atmosphere, and youโve got auditory bliss. With that being said, I was pleasantly moved by the track โnevermoreโ, a minimal IDM-influenced moody tune. The BPM has a beautiful flow that is just right, and the timing blends excellently with the psychedelic-style bass and synths. In terms of a catchy hook, โnevermoreโ did fall within that scope, and it was lovely to hear!
โGrayโ is one such track that is drenched in melancholy. With distinct eeriness surrounding the song, it is also quite ambient in nature! The soft piano embellishments and vocal parts connect wonderfully, and can easily be added to anyoneโs playlist for escapism. The last track of the EP entitled โBLADEโ, is an exotic trap-beat style rap extravaganza. Featuring the likes Thorgan, the entire track has fluid rap sections and RnB style sections that uplift the high intensity of the number.
