Octavia gets raw, resilient, and defiant in her powerful and very relatable latest single, “INSANE!”

Recorded in Blackwood, New Jersey, at Musically Speaking Studios and produced by Stephen Childs, this alternative rock track came out of a dark time and rode out against conformity.

“INSANE!” kicks off with a heavy and brooding guitar tune that envelops us in a shimmering and echoing darkness, awaiting Octavia’s deep and thick vocals to come through and fill it. With a moody and sassy trail to her voice, Octavia sings of her lifestyle disapproved by society. However, she stays defiant, especially with her line, “I say, hang me on a cross.”

As the drums come crashing in with a slow and steady pace, the intensity builds, leading to a chorus with gritty and grungey guitars that strongly evoke 90s grunge/alternative rock, which is Octavia’s strong suit. With blazing guitars, she defiantly declares, “You say, I am insane.”

At its core, “INSANE!” is a deeply personal song for Octavia, written during a dark period. Her candid lyrics and emotive delivery reflect the pain and turmoil she experienced during her endeavor against substance abuse and mental health, making the track resonate on a profound level.
