Mick J. Clark returns with his enchanting voice and hopeful instrumentation with another wonderful holiday track titled “It’s Getting Near Christmas”. This time around a bouncy bass arrangement greets us among the cheerful rhythm section that will surely resonate with the holidays.
“It’s Getting Near Christmas” has this sparkling synthesizer section that perfectly syncs with either the picturesque view of snowfall or ice-skating in Central Park. It has a charming and atmospheric essence to it that truly uplifts you. On top of that vocal storytelling and harmonizing quality of the track is joyous, and are able to ignite that special holiday vibe within you. I’ve always enjoyed Mick’s tunes, there’s a profound humane aspect to his music that everyone needs once in a while. Music is an exceptional form of healing to aid any harm or wound, and artists like Mick ensures that with a smooth voice and subtle guitar bits, everything’s gonna be all right.
The song structure of “It’s Getting Near Christmas” is deepened through easy listening and contemporary pop rock. It’s tough not to sway your head to the lovely tempo of the track, and the spicy bass lines surely do provide a necessary punch to get your groove on. Whenever we walk into some hotel lobby, or grand mall in December, the visual presence of Christmas lights is prevalent and it heightens the holiday spirit. But, right now, at the office “It’s Getting Near Christmas” made me excited for the break without the razzle-dazzle of decorations, but rather summoning a fantastic pop-rock flow that Mick’s musical prowess specializes in.
