Joy (In My Own Time) – [Tribe Song] by DAMIEN: Review
DAMIEN’s ability to compose a melody makes a strong impression. This is even more so with his darkwave track “Joy (In My Own Time) – [Tribe Song].” It’s a solid number with electronica layers and gripping vocal segments. Altogether, the musician captivates our senses with an intriguing tune full of groove and cadence.
The track opens up with an ’80s-style synth and an intimate singer at the mic. Eventually, things slow down and return to form with an upbeat section. The tune’s ebb and flow were fascinating, especially when the slower synth portions were exchanged with an explosion of bass and beats. Furthermore, DAMIEN’s sound has distinct elements of darkwave that are more intense than its brighter counterpart synthwave. Hearing it all reminded me of each time I came across a new genre and wished to grasp its sub-groups just for the kick of it. At times it may feel like tumbling down the rabbit hole, especially when the vastness of electronica is in focus. Nevertheless, it leads me to artists such as DAMIEN and their catchy darkwave melodies that grab my attention right from the get-go.
If you like fat synth pieces that make your head bop to the rhythm, then “Joy (In My Own Time) – [Tribe Song]” is for you, my friend. The track embodies a sentimental ethos, and its humane nature will entice you with a powerful melody. Aside from that, the song is available for streaming, so how about checking it out folks?
