Leïla releases groovy new song ‘Masquerade of Paradise’
With her two new singles, ‘Histoire d’amour’ and ‘Masquerade of Paradise’, Leïla is now making a powerful comeback. On these songs, we can hear a new, more assured, and mature Leïla. Her distinctive sound combines pop and folk elements with more modern sounds and lyrical technique.
These two components represent two facets of who she is as a person. The double Leïla: The philosopher and the funny one. The song encourages the freedom to think for oneself and to be oneself, to be authentic. On one hand, ‘Masquerade of Paradise’ is a more philosophical piece, with more thoughtful existential questions. It is a more intense, more emotional song, which speaks directly to her soul. It’s funnier and lighter. Leïla attempts to parody her own love stories without becoming satirical. However, it’s a love story that isn’t really one; it’s hazy and unclear because you can tell there is a problem right away. She thinks she is in a relationship with herself primarily.
