Loneliness by StarAV: Review
Evident from the title of the song, โLonelinessโ by StarAV is an intensely poignant representation of the feeling of loneliness. Conceived in a โnoisy apartmentโ, StarAV says the song just โflowed outโ; showcasing his artistic capabilities.
Inspired by the rock band, Radiohead, and shoegaze music in general, the composition of the gritty song with the deep thundering bass and drum beats, all paint a melancholic picture of the thoughts in his mind. StarAV says, โit may be considered synth-rock as well since there are no real instruments in the track.โ
The stark contrast between the calm, smooth vocals and the deep, gritty melody of the song creates a unique structure and musical experience. The slow pace and the ethereal harmonization lull the listeners into a dream-like state, quickly shattered by the climaxing point of the song, as the vocals are distorted and the pace quickens. The song doesnโt allow a single moment of boredom, much like the feeling of loneliness โ a constant feeling sometimes overwhelming and sometimes barely there.
The repetition of the lyrics works in the songโs favor, creating a deep-rooted feeling of anxiety; a beautiful metaphor for loneliness itself. The fact that the song is only 2:27 minutes long isnโt too much or too less as the effect the song leaves on a person is deep and exquisitely sorrowful.
With his distinct style, melodic vocal senses, and soulful lyricism, he aims to create music people can relate to and music that will resonate far and for years to come.
