Marisa Petraglia released enchanting new song ‘A new world’
Jazz singer and songwriter Marisa Petraglia is the author of the composition ‘A new world’. More than 3 years after the release of her debut album, ‘Unusual’, the single was made available on January 1st, 2023.
Marisa has a very diverse background in the arts. Even though she first became interested in music as a child by singing in a Church choir and practicing classical piano, she has studied with many influential jazz musicians and singers. Later, she began studying some pop music before focusing more on Latin, bossa nova, and, most importantly, soul and blues, which introduced her to the world of jazz language. In her compositions, each of these components is audible.
Advanced jazz harmonies and a soul-melodic groove are combined in ‘A new world’ to create a sort of pop song structure. The horns that converse with the voice throughout the composition have received a peculiarly high level of significance. The song has an intro and a finale that are enhanced by the voice acting as a wind instrument and contributing to the arrangement without using the lyrics.
