Meadowhip Drops Catchy New Song ‘Am I Broken?’
The new single from Meadowhip, ‘Am I Broken’ is moody, thought-provoking, and wry. It is a snappy reflection on what it’s like to be “the problematic one” in any intimate relationship.
With hypnotic bass lines, audacious keys, and lo-fi/hip hop-inspired beats, Am I Broken grooves seductively. Meadowhip’s emotive vocals and alt-pop and R&B hooks drive the song, which is backed by layers of luscious, airy harmonies and accented by hints of shimmering guitar and Sydney’s Tommy Gun’s 1940s-style trumpet.
The song acknowledges how a person’s flaws and bad behavior can affect their relationships in a profoundly human but lighthearted way. “So self-righteous | Always in crisis | Does anybody want to guess why I’m like this?” are just a few of the song’s lyrics. Am I Broken is brooding and filled with self-examination, but it’s also heavily infused with Meadowhip’s signature sarcasm and self-deprecation.
