With Mélodie de la Déesse Vol. II, Haïfa Melliti crafts something that feels less like an EP and more like a quiet ritual. Rooted in intuition rather than structure, the project unfolds as a deeply personal meditation on the sacred feminine, where piano becomes language, emotion becomes movement, and silence is just as important as sound. Melliti leans into softness and presence, letting each composition breathe as if it arrived exactly when it was meant to.
“Éveil de la Déesse” opens the journey with a gentle, expansive touch. Deep piano notes emerge slowly, almost like they’re rising from still water, before lighter, more delicate phrases begin to glide through. The interplay between these layers feels conversational, one voice grounding, the other lifting. As they weave in and out of each other, the track creates a sense of awakening that’s subtle but unmistakable, like the first stretch after a long rest.
Then comes “Oud de la Déesse,” which shifts the texture ever so slightly. Here, the piano takes on a rippling, cascading quality, with notes falling in fluid succession. It’s more dynamic, almost like a stream finding its rhythm, yet it never loses that meditative core. You can hear the quiet momentum to it, that’s gentle, but purposeful.
By the time “Prière de la Déesse” arrives, the atmosphere deepens. The piano echoes into space, each note shimmering and lingering just a little longer. There’s something haunting in the way the sound expands, but it’s not unsettling—it’s reflective, even comforting. The notes seem to speak to each other, creating a sense of fullness within the stillness.
All in all, Mélodie de la Déesse Vol. II feels like a pause in a noisy world, as a soft, luminous reminder to slow down, listen inward, and just be.
