Memoriam by Forgotten Garden: Review
Forgotten Garden has composed a unique and mysterious track that will surely captivate you. ‘Memoriam’ is an emotional track, which is a vibe without a doubt. It’s one of those types of songs that emits a horror movie/gothic rock aesthetic. That is a hauntingly beautiful tone indeed. I’m a big fan of mysterious and ethereal music, thus Forgotten Garden really sets the record straight when it comes to making special melodies as such.
The song is driven by a dark guitar riff, which I believe is in a deep minor scale. There’s some bass guitar involved and synths. But what takes the icing on the cake is the singer’s voice. Her voice is quite smooth and natural. The way she hits the high notes and the atmospheric vocal arrangements are delightful to hear. It’s wonderful when the guitar arrangements match the vocals and they are in cohesion. Thus, “Memoriam” was a wonderful experience to listen to. The singer Inês Rebelo, will leave you in awe as she magically calms your nerves with her voice.
Indie band Forgotten Garden leans toward the dark wave genre. Their music is typically somber, touching, and eerie. Inês does the vocals, while Danny handles the majority of the instruments. They are predominantly an electric band, however, they do occasionally release acoustic tracks. Inês has returned to Portugal from Scotland, where she has lived for a long time. North of Scotland is Danny’s home. In 2019, they began collaborating.
