Benedicta Syran is a multi-talented artist who is known for her work as a singer, composer, actor, and performer. Being Norweigan, Swiss, and British puts her musical talents in a global perspective. Currently, she is attending Washington DC to study musical theatre. Her song titled “Let Me Be” is a pop jam infused with a catchy and minimal beat. The piano and harmonic elements of the track are delightful, and easy on the ears.
Syran’s vocals are sweet and clean, the way she sings will soothe your soul. Her style and expression are masterful, and the way she controls her breathing and singing ability is something to admire. As she sings, a choir-like harmony follows her. The bassline of the track adds a groovy attitude that I totally dig. There are some minimal guitar parts as well during transitions, which sound dreamy. The lyrical themes present in “Let Me Be” are empowering and will bring out a sense of joy within you, there’s no doubt about it!
“Let Me Be” has all the ingredients of a bonafide hit track, that can appeal to a large audience. There are some parts of the song where Syran’s singing enters a flow state that will resonate with anyone. Overall, when you’ll hear her singing you know that the track is gonna be absolute fire. The rhythm section of the song deserves a medal, truly! One last thing, almost at the end of the song Syran’s singing goes into her saying “Yeah it’s me”! It was a surprise and felt a bit like improv, all the while really impressive songwriting!
