After four years of writing, revising, and holding back until the right moment, Booth finally shares a track that distills her restless nights into a fervent passion project. Produced by Gareth Nuttall at the Lounge Studio in Wigan, where he has worked with The Ks and The Lottery Winners, the song combines thunderous instrumentation with Boothโs endearing, soaring vocals.
โMINDโ opens with a brooding, heavy, thumping, intimidating, building beat like a pumping heart, quickly joined by searing guitars. Boothโs tender, rich, and thick voice cuts through with vibrato, soaring over the weight as though sheโs wrestling her demons in real time. When she belts out the lyrics โyou creep in at night with no company but mine,โ sheโs illustrating the very relatable nights of lying awake in the dark with thoughts you canโt silence. Her gorgeous vibrato is an ache made audible. The way her belts tremble through the vibrato to convey the ache and soar through it really resonates and pierces our hearts.
As the track builds, guitars blaze with melodic fire and weave around the pounding rhythm section, and it all feels cinematic, like a storm rolling across a midnight sky. Booth remains the anchor and brings the vulnerability and grit in equal measure.
