Such a splendid twist of melodies, all rooted within the simplicity of a muted acoustic guitar, “Myths” by Munk Duane showed me that a song doesn’t need to be centered on a specific genre. At first, I thought of the track as a soft acoustic number. But, when the beat dropped I was completely blown away by the pop and soul ascension the artist had hidden away like a magic trick.
I must commend the artist for creating an ebb and flow between the slower portions of the song in combination with the uplifting bits. Everything connected beautifully from Duane’s melodic voice going up in pitch and reverbing to perfection. The particularly indie nature of the song derives from its minimal instrumentation through subtle bass pieces and beats that scream underrated. All in all, I loved the chorus sections the most. This is because Duane exhibited a very lively artistic presence by extending his voice combined with fast-flowing lyrical portions. This made the song truly memorable and catchy as heck.
The song “Myths,” written by Munk Duane, the Boston-based artist, is a story about reflecting upon thyself and the process of reinvention. He believes everyone has a role to play in becoming who they are and that we each have the power to rewrite our life stories at any time. Duane’s creative process is thoughtful pieces of poetry coming alive in song form. The track is so good, that it sounds ten times better when focused upon and eyes shut, enjoy!
