Oblivious by Sadie Nix: Review
“Oblivious” is an emotionally stirring track by Sadie Nix, a singer-songwriter based in Brighton. She’s originally from the United States and has an interesting take on writing heartbreaking melodies. Her approach involves sentimental storytelling while a piano carries the tune in the style of a pop ballad. According to Sadie, “Oblivious” is the ideal heartache tune. This is because it compares the closure from a regular breakup, to how much more depressing it is to miss a thing that never was or could have been.
Sadie Nix follows the genre tropes of pop rock, and her take on it is stunning. The singer’s voice has a weight attached to it. You can grasp the amount of pain and melancholy in her performance, and these factors ultimately contribute to the success of “Oblivious.” The track’s resonance is solid, and there is also an element of drama present. As the piano’s sequence flows in the melody, light drums accompany to keep the tempo stable. Due to this attribute, the transitions in the track feel more intense to hear.
Alex Robinson was the recording and mix engineer on “Oblivious”, while Martin Hollis was responsible for producing it. Altogether, Sadie’s emotional single was recorded at Metropolis Studios in London. The entirety of her song had a polished tone, and the production quality was simply top-notch. The richness in the artist’s voice is brought out, and truly her craft is fit for the upper echelons of the music biz.
