Olivia Khoury released tuneful new song ‘Waiting’
The multidisciplinary artist was looking for sincerity and authenticity when making ‘Portraits’. Olivia takes her listeners on a journey through jazz, pop, indie, folk, and spaces of vulnerable introspection. Her music is original and has been blended to incorporate all of her influences.
Unexpected vocal harmonies are audible, as is the unexpected interaction between guitars and percussion with Latin influences. Six songs showcase the musician’s formal jazz training. In several songs, including ‘Waiting’, ‘Seek’, and ‘Wholehearted’, Olivier Guertin and Mark Nelson converse with one another. Acquired ears may notice the drum parts superimposed on top of one another.
