When you’re getting ready to go out, ‘Good Luck’ is the empowering song you need: when you’re feeling down about someone and your buddies will take you out to get that person off your mind.
Mabel is ecstatic about her first official single release of the year. For “Good Luck,” a scorching, cheerful track about eliminating mental clutter, the British-Swedish singer and songwriter has linked up with renowned DJs and producers Jax Jones and Galantis.
“The inspiring music you need when getting ready to go out: when you’re feeling low about someone, and your buddies will take you out to get that person off your mind,” Mabel said of the song.
The song is accompanied by a futuristic music video that is saturated in bright colors and features addictive dancing that blends well with the sharp production. Mabel previously collaborated with Jax Jones on the 2018 dancehall hit “Ring Ring” starring Rich The Kid, but “Good Luck” is her debut collaboration with Galantis and the first time the two dance music titans have worked together.
Mabel’s increasing repertoire of bold and inspiring dance-pop singles continues with “Good Luck,” which follows last year’s “Let Them Know,” which transformed the high-energy of a bustling club setting into a confidence-building state of mind.
Mabel has been recentering since the release of her debut album High Expectations, which has 4.5 billion streams and 2.5 million adjusted album sales, making it the highest-selling debut by a British female artist in 2019. Her most recent recordings, such as the Joel Corry-assisted “I Wish,” have demonstrated both where she’s going next (to the dancefloor) and what she’s leaving behind (anything that stands in the way of her having the time of her life).
“I’m using the words freedom and celebration to describe the music I’m doing right now, because there’s been so much darkness,” Mabel told The Face last year. “When I went back to making music, I had to ask myself if I was going to focus on those things or if I was going to be the one to bring light.”
