Leti, the artistic moniker of Swiss-Italian singer-songwriter and producer Letizia Ghisletta, returns with โPretty Boy Lipstick,โ a tender, bilingual lo-fi single arriving on December 5, 2025. Inspired by a short story from Stories by a Russian Londoner, the track pivots around a woman, worn down by routine and expectation, who rediscovers herself through an unexpected affair with a younger man. Itโs about self-recognition, told with restraint, warmth, and a soft glow that lingers long after the song fades. Mixed by Annie Rew Shaw and mastered by Matt Howe, the release also signals a subtle stylistic shift for Leti, moving away from the jazz-leaning intricacy of her Kaleidoscope EP toward a more electronic, bedroom-intimate sound world.
โPretty Boy Lipstickโ opens with mesmerizing, soothing harmonies floating over gentle piano, instantly setting a hushed, late-night mood. Letiโs high, soft voice enters delicately, almost whisper-close, singing with unguarded and sincere tenderness. As the track unfolds, low-end beats begin to rumble and rustle beneath the surface, giving the song a pulse without ever disturbing its calm. Reversed and electronically treated piano lines swell softly, their cello-like warmth wrapping around the melody, while airy backing vocals drift in and out like half-remembered thoughts. The bilingual lyrics mirror the songโs emotional duality, through longing and clarity, escape and grounding, fantasy and self-truth.
As the rustling percussion continues to pulse, subtle orchestral textures seep into the arrangement, thickening the atmosphere while keeping everything feather-light. Leti sings as if floating on ether, her phrasing relaxed and intimate, inviting the listener to slow down and breathe with her.
โPretty Boy Lipstickโ confesses and resets, bringing a lo-fi vignette about reclaiming oneself in the most human way possible.
