Radgie Gadgie (Radio Edit) by Crux: Review

Newcastle’s music scene is filled with vibrant acts such as our artist of the spotlight today. Ladies and gents, presenting Crux, and their brilliant uplifting number “Radgie Gadgie.” Do you enjoy the fast-paced aura of indie? Well, the band has a special melody tied with punk, and prog which is simply exceptional and feels like a speeding train on its way to musical ecstasy.
The nature of “Radgie Gadgie” has this sinister almost villain-like tone to it. So brace yourselves, cause it was unbelievably entertaining! The intriguing aspect was witnessing how Crux put such a dark and catchy essence to the instrumentation of the song. Let me explain a bit, the guitar sections, distorted as heck, pertain to a solid Halloween theme that sounds like a haunting hymn, but is captivating nonetheless. Aside from that, my earnest appreciation goes toward the drummer, who embodies the skill fit for a virtuoso. Every roll, pattern, and combination put forward on the percussion bits was excellent, fast-paced, and just on time. I felt quite elated to hear the drummer’s presence on “Radgie Gadgie” as they played an integral part in rejoicing the track.
According to Crux, the meaning behind “Radgie Gadgie” is tied with the Geordie slang for ‘Aggressive Man’. From a musical standpoint, the song captures the theme of toxicity existing between men, and the crescendo is surely resonant. This is especially the case for the energetic synergy of the band. Overall, it is a charming number worth hearing, and truly the band doesn’t waste a single minute in delivering a bonafide performance.
