Rico Nasty’s fantastic album Nightmare Vacation was published in the end of 2020, and she’s been constantly releasing one-off songs since then: “Magic,” “Buss,” and the Flo Milli collaboration “Money.” Rico is rumored to be working on a new mixtape after performing with Doja Cat at Coachella this past weekend. She’s released a new tune today, a duet with rising Atanta rapper Bktherula.
Rico has a variety of genres, and the new tune “Vaderz” sees her return to the frenzied, punk-influenced SoundCloud rap that first made her famous. Rico and Bktherula have amazing on-record chemistry, and the song packs a lot of jagged energy into two minutes. The two of them alternate lines, matching each other’s enthusiasm and timing their punchlines. “That ho bananers if she believed I was green and mad like Invader Zim,” Bktherula says. “No Hannah Montaner/ This ain’t no double life, bitch, it’s the way I live,” Rico says. Check out the frantic lo-fi video for “Vaderz” below.
