“I wanted to create a vivid and lively drop with a distinctive bounce to fit HRVY’s fantastic vocal style for ‘Save Me,'” says Aoki. “We felt like a haunting church vibe was the appropriate setting for what the soul-stirring lyrics depicted when we shot the video,” she says.
Throughout the song’s production, HRVY and Aoki had been communicating over the airwaves, and they ultimately met in person for the first time at the music video shoot in Los Angeles.
HRVY says, “I’ve always been a tremendous fan of Steve’s.” “It was an instant yes once I composed the song last year and learned he wanted it to be a single.” We hadn’t met until the LA shoot, and I’m hopeful we’ll be able to perform it together at some festivals this summer, along with some cake!!”
