Sharon Van Etten’s song “Mistakes” now has a music video. The song is from her new album, We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong, which was released by Jagjaguwar earlier today. Van Etten may be seen in the video revisiting several of her old haunts in Brooklyn, such as the Drift and Union Pool. Below is a video directed by Ashley Connor.
Van Etten’s 2019 full-length Remind Me Tomorrow is followed by We’ve Been Doing It All Wrong. Van Etten decided to release the album in its entirety, with no previously released singles. Van Etten remarked in a press statement when she revealed the album, “I wanted to approach this release differently, to engage my audience in an intentional way, in an effort to showcase the album as a whole body of work.” “These ten songs are meant to be heard in order, all at once, in order to tell a much greater story of hope, grief, longing, and resilience.” Her new album does not feature the tracks “Porta” or “Used to It,” which she published previously.
