UK art-pop band Silverlake returns with their infectious new single, โTower of Sunshine,โ the latest track from their third album, Exotic Metals Ltd. Out now on all platforms including Bandcamp, the song is a glowing anthem about self-preservation, resilience, and sparking your own inner power. Originally conceived as a DJ mash-up, โTower of Sunshineโ evolved into a full, dynamic track, brimming with pumping gritty music, shimmering horns, pulsating strings, and a confident, witty vocal performance by Sally-Ann Parker. The band fuses indie, dance, and art-pop to create a rich, layered soundscape.
โWhen itโs dark, engage the main drive, spark up the search lights, be your own torch-bearerโฆโ says the band, reflecting on the songโs uplifting message. Along with the single, a vibrant new music video is now available here, capturing the songโs dazzling energy. Cameras and editing were handled by Robin Dallaway, with Tony Sherrard managing lights and playback.
Silverlake is here to bring post-punk, house, funk, and techno into danceable and deeply emotional settings. Their sound is influenced by legends like Human League, Roxy Music, Massive Attack, Led Zeppelin, and George Clinton.
Featured on BBC Introducing and BBC 6 Music, Silverlake is known for their heartfelt songs about work, love, sex, and mortality. Recent performances include major festival appearances and a featured set at the Aston Villa Arena. Listen to them on Spotify.
