Upon hearing ‘Simple Love’ by Tarn PK for the first time I immediately felt its resemblance with chiptune music. It’s a genre of video game music where the rhythm elements involve using a synthesizer, and the tone is made up of sounds that are similar to those in arcade machines. Thus, as a gamer myself, I truly appreciate the melody of ‘Simple Love’. The singer’s voice is very smooth and has a distinct sound. As a fan of unique voices, I found his voice to be masterfully mixed and mastered. It was a joy to listen to!
The rhythm section is purely synth-based with some percussion. The track from start to finish was excellent, and I’d love to hear it more from time to time. Every verse and chorus was catchy and infused with pop elements. There are some vocal harmonies, that sound delightful and add a futuristic vibe to the track.
Quotable Lyrics:
“Just want that simple love
Where we ain’t messed up
Half the time
Why can’t we trade places
And see where it takes us tonight?“ – Tarn PK
‘Simple Love’ was a song that has gone through phases, and when Tarn PK was confident enough he went through with a more whimsical approach to production. It’s a departure from the more conventional composition method that led him to transform the song from a sweet R&B groove into a lively pop track. I’m truly glad the artist put so much thought into his song because it came out as a beautiful number. I hope to listen to more of his music!
