Provo, Utah-based up-and-coming youngster Carson Ferris’ latest song ‘Speed Limit’ is an exciting pop track with big percussion and guitar rhythms. But, despite the catchy tune and production, the song has a deeper significance that makes it stand out.

The song is about the sacrifices and hardships that come with pursuing one’s aspirations. The insightful lyrics challenge listeners to examine their life and determine what is worth sacrificing in order to achieve their goals, while also finding balance and managing stress. It’s a powerful statement, especially coming from a 13-year-old performer just starting out in the music industry. Carson wrote the song because he sometimes feels overwhelmed trying to make it as an artist. The soaring high notes in the chorus represent how making sacrifices to achieve your goals may be worthwhile. It’s a message that anyone who has ever chased a dream and encountered barriers will understand.

Musically, ‘Speed Limit’ is a pop-rock song inspired by acts such as the Jonas Brothers, OneRepublic, and Imagine Dragons. The production is excellent, with massive symphonic percussion and bright guitar rhythms that nicely match Carson’s voice.

Overall, this song is an excellent follow-up to Carson’s earlier single, ‘Driving Alone’, (which is on the B-Side of this single), and it further demonstrates his skill as a young musician.
