Stardust Collector by My Autumn Amor: Album Review
My Autumn Amor makes alternative rock music that should vibe with peeps growing up in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Their music feels nostalgic to hear especially because of the rhythm mechanics and narratives involved. Altogether it’s a fantastic experience to take in from the album “Stardust Collector,” and what follows are vibes from a cherished period in rock history.
“Stardust Collector” has a plethora of alternative rock hits that are full of creative guitar riffs and charismatic vocals. What got my attention first were the soft acoustic-folk numbers “Picture of a Girl” and “The Matrix.” These show a gentler side of the album and were pretty calming to hear. Furthermore, the enlightening sound of alternative rock is more active in the song “Quiet Girl,” where a magical tale unfolds over enchanting synths and a lovely guitar piece. “Dream Machine” is a classic alternative rock piece paying homage to hits from yesteryear. Part My Chemical Romance, and part The White Stripes, this lovely number has a stellar melody from explosive guitars and drums that the aforementioned bands are inspired by, at least that’s my take on it. Apart from that, the lyrics feel punchy and captivate you immensely.
Tracks like “The Out” had such a laid-back aura. Everything from the instrumentals to the vocals had a soothing aura, and it’s perfect to hear on repeat. In conclusion, My Autumn Amor’s music is highly recommended for alternative rock fans wishing to take a walk down memory lane.
