Swimming by Hanover Park: Review
Andre Deon Walker Jr, better known as Hanover Park, is a musician and producer from Chicago, Illinois. Music is his means of navigating through life situations, and he hopes that it does the same for his listeners. If you enjoy Lo-Fi artists such as Blue Wednesday, Swørn, and Xander, then you are in for a treat with his new single “Swimming”.
The song begins with a hazy and soothing drumbeat that reeks of summer vibes. There is a sense of pure innocence and fuzzy happiness streaming through the notes, probably from the white noise of kids playing and laughing in the background. The music progresses with complexity and interesting instrument nuances, such as sparkling bell details or airy flute notes. It seemed as if you were actually out walking with your loved one in the park on a lovely morning. Life doesn’t get any better than that. Hanover Park is clearly establishing his own universe with Puppy, a mascot inspired by his childhood toy, appearing across all of his music videos and visuals. In “Swimming”, Puppy had a swimming date with Puppyette. He arrived at her door with flowers and took her to the Chicago beaches. They opted to hang around instead and spend the day enjoying the smell of flowers and the fall weather when they arrived. The illustration made for the song is sweet and filled with love in the air, much like the tune itself.
If you just want to relax be filled with wonderful vibes, I would highly recommend “Swimming” by Hanover Park.
