Kings County doesnโt hold back with their fierce, bone-rattling take on Marilyn Mansonโs 1996 industrial rock anthem, โThe Beautiful People.โ Released on May 9, 2025, this cover hits like a freight train from the start, bringing a savage edge that feels just as relevant today as it did nearly three decades ago. The Orlando-based hard rockers take everything chaotic and primal about the original and dial it up with a modern, adrenaline-charged sound. From the first punchy drumbeat and snarling guitar riff, youโre thrown into a loud and raw arena.
Rob Dexterโs vocals are a gritty, commanding presence, snarling through the track with just enough menace to honor Manson while stamping his own authority all over it. The bandโs chemistry is on full display, Steve Bell and Bill Kaniaโs guitars growl and slash through the mix, while Joe Lopezโs drumming grounds the chaos in a pounding, almost tribal rhythm. Their producer Chuck Alkazian deserves credit for capturing that edge-of-implosion energy while still delivering a polished wall of sound that doesnโt lose the songโs grungy soul.
The accompanying video, directed by Jon Vulpine, is a whole horror show on its own. Filmed in a chilling abandoned mill in Rome, GA, the visuals are disturbingly immersive with dangerous drop-offs, twisted masked figures, and post-apocalyptic grime that makes your skin crawl.
Kings County might have started off as a Disney house band (yes, really), but with this release, thereโs no doubt theyโve carved out a darker, heavier space for themselves. Check out the music video on YouTube.
