The Community by East Harbor: EP Review
“The Community” is a vibrant collection giving listeners of any genre a blissful experience! Keep reading to know more about the 6-track EP by East Harbor, and I’ll make it worth your time!
You’ll catch feelings right from the first track with the James Young-like vocals of Josh Dobson kicking in for R.W.I.B. (Right Where I Belong) in a catchy guitar-driven backdrop. “Highlight of My Week” certainly became the highlight of my day on a random Tuesday with its explosion of high-pitched riffs, funky backing vocals, and a joyous melody that was consistent even in the bridge. It ends with a bang, and made me press replay over and over again! The song “The Community” takes a much mellow turn, but the vocalist is as energetic and promising in his delivery. There are fun pops of a bright and brimming saxophone. I really have to give it to the man behind all that drum work in all of the tracks, Cory Kouns along with David Gonzales showing off his incredible bass skills. “Lucid” is as starry as a live Coldplay concert and “Miss The Old You” makes for a fun beach party song! Closing it off, “Expect” takes you to new heights both vocally and with its electric guitar. There are hints of indie-funk rock and a banging beat to the last minute, adding more depth to the song.
East Harbor definitely deserves a chance to make it to the top charts of Spotify. I know I’m hooked for life!
